Lower street, Dartmouth
www.cafealfresco.co.uk |
 |
Alf Resco's is legendary and is always a big hit. As the name
suggests there's a great outdoor area which is partly canvas covered -
very lovely all year round. Inside it's old world eclectic charm
offers delicious fresh food and just about every kinda coffee you can
think of. Vibrant atmosphere, live music and great staff.
Alf's is an absolute must for the full Dartmouth experience! Easy to find – look for
the gas flame burning above the gates on Lower Street. Open from 7am
- 2pm daily. |

Barista -
Foss Street, Dartmouth
www.cafebarista.co.uk |
 |
Cafe Barista on Foss Street is always a sound choice. Lots of local
produce in every dish on the menu. There's a real sort of homely
feel about this place, it's not overly big so they really look after you.
There are a few tables outside so on a
good day you can sit and watch the world go by. Again good coffee
and always a friendly face.
Usually open from around 9.30 till around 5pm. |

The French Bread Shop -
Market Square, Dartmouth
|
 |
The
French bread shop is a delicatessens so although they don't offer English
breakfast, you'll find a good continental style breakfast with lovely
breads and cheeses for later. Opposite is the Market Cafe which
opens from 6.30 on Tuesdays and Fridays and 9? for the rest of the week,
it's only small but we've enjoyed some pretty mean bacon sarnies from
there lately! There's usually tables and chairs outside within the
market place. |

Dartmouth Castle,
Dartmouth

The
Castle tea rooms is a great place to start the day, the view is
spectacular and well worth the walk (about 15-20 mins, fairly level walk).
Open daily with all day breakfasts and homemade cakes. If you don't
make it here first thing, it's a great stop for lunch with a good walk and
in summer a boat ride back into town. |

Dart Rock Cafe -
Church Close, Dartmouth
www.dartrockcafe.co.uk |
 |
Located just the other side of the church from the Just B rooms, Dart Rock
Cafe offers cool and family friendly dining. It's not usually open
first thing, but if you favour Brunch over breakfast this could be for
you. It's a great option if you have little ones along with you. As
it's a little hidden away, if the town is busy there's a
good chance others won't have found it yet! |

Royal Castle Hotel -
The Quay, Dartmouth
www.royalcastle.co.uk |
 |
Since you've saved so much by staying with us, you might feel like
splashing out a little extra on a fancy breakfast. The restaurant
upstairs serves breakfast and has great views although you'll probably be best to book in
advance. Great place for coffee or drinks at anytime, the Royal
castle really is the hub of the town. Lovely in winter with a really
cosy feel and great ambiance. |

|
Station Restaurant-
The Quay, Dartmouth
|
 |
Set
on Dartmouth's embankment the Station cafe has great views of the river,
in summer you can sit outside, although perhaps not the most relaxing
place in the world as it really is first stop from the ferry pontoon.
If you're after a 'midlanders' breakfast that won't break the bank, this
is the place! |
