Dartmouth Music Festival

Date: 16th, 17th & 18th May 2019

In May the annual Dart Music Festival takes over the town and for 3 days the streets come alive with the sound of music. This is one of the greatest highlights of life in Dartmouth and is an incredible opportunity to see and hear exceptional bands and acts performing at some unusual venues across the town. Book early as this FREE event is obviously very popular!

Devon County Show

Date: 10th, 11th & 12th May 2019

The name says it all... the County's biggest show - animals, events, agricultural machinery, competitions etc. Join us for a celebration of all things Devon. The three biggest days out in the county calendar appeal to people of all ages and interests who enjoy getting up close to top quality livestock, tasting exceptional food and drink and experiencing rural living at its most vibrant.


Date: 25th to 29th May 2019

BrixFest is a FREE, three day spectacular festival including fireworks, children's day, live music, cooking demonstrations, heritage craft exhibitions, crabbing competitions, vintage car rally and lots more. Our small but dedicated committee have been working away over the cold autumn and winter months to bring you something special - the 8th instalment of BrixFest. We're so excited to show you what we've been up to.

Kingsbridge Food & Music Fest

Date: 31st May - 2nd June 2019

This three day annual food and music extravaganza is now a real favourite in the South Hams events calendar, and will showcase the eclectic mix of incredible tastes and sounds that originate from our beautiful region. This will be the 8th year that the festival has been running and it continues to gather interest, support and crowds year after year. There really is nothing quite like this festival in the area; its relaxed, friendly atmosphere is commented on year after year and the perfect way for the town to come together and party for the weekend.

Brixham Heritage Sailing Regatta

Date: 25th & 26th May 2019

Brixham Heritage Sailing Regatta has its roots in Sailing Trawler races held in Torbay in the early 1800’s. It has been traditionally held on the Friday and Saturday of the late May Bank Holiday, however after the success of 2015 this has been changed for the last 2 years to the Saturday and Sunday.

Dartmouth Galleries New exhibitions

Date: 24th May 2019

Dartmouth Galleries come together to launch their new exhibitions which run for the next few weeks. Opening on the 24th with drinks and nibbles at each gallery you are invited to view the new works by various artists. A Great evening!

June 2019

Greenway Literary Festival

Date: 25th May to 8th June 2019

Why not get inspired at the very first Greenway Literary Festival in celebration of the ten year anniversary of Greenway House being opened to the public for the first time. There will be two weeks of author talks, storytelling, performances and trails. 25th – 31st May (half term) is Children’s Book Week with activities for children, teens and families; 1st-9th June presents a line-up of authors with a focus on thrillers and crime as well as nature-writing, history and more.

Torbay Air Show

Date: 1st & 2nd Hune 2019

The Torbay Air Show has been bringing families and friends together since 2016, this free event has grown in popularity over the last two years attracting in excess of over 165,000 spectators to the Bay over the two days. Using the Bay’s stunning natural amphitheatre, the event is the RAF’s first display of the summer flying season and is well supported by their top teams including The Red Arrows, The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the Eurofighter Typhoon jet.

Back to the 40s

Date: 1st - 8th June 2019

6th June 2019 marks the 75th anniversary of the D-Day Landings and the Battle of Normandy . Brixham will be going back to the 40s. To help create the ‘war-time’ feel in the town alongside the music, sounds, street entertainers and re-enactors from the period, many shops. bars and cafes will be creating their own displays. Hear the great speeches of Sir Winston Churchill; the sound of the air-raid siren followed by the all clear; stop and admire the historic 1940’s vehicles in the streets; the dance displays or music in our Old Fish Market or at Shoalstone Pool.

Occombe Festival

Date: 14th & 15th June 2019

Two days of live foot-stomping music, over 40 varieties of beers and ales to try alongside ciders, wine, Prosecco and Pimm's, and a feast of delicious local street food too. Last year’s musical line-up was an epic list of local and national musical talent and 2019 is shaping up to be just as fabulous if not even better! So make a date for your diary now to join in Torbay's only festival on a working farm.

Dartmouth Arts and Craft weekend

Date: 29th to 30th June 2019

The 16th annual Dartmouth Art & Craft Weekend in aid of Children’s Hospice South West. An interesting and fun weekend to watch, talk to and buy from more artists and craft workers than ever before displaying their talents. Entertainment from a wide range of musical and dance performers, and refreshments in the form of teas, homemade cakes and snacks provided by Children’s Hospice volunteers and supporters.

Coleton Fishacre Jazz Party

Date: 29th June 2019

Step back in time to the decadence of the jazz age with this celebration of the 1920s. Sip cocktails on the bowling lawn,listen to jazz music from the Park Lane Stompers and soak up the beautiful surroundings of the D'Oyly Carte's 1920s country home. Cocktails are included in the ticket price.

A vibrant and joyful 10-day event, a chance for those who read books to meet those who write them. The setting is glorious, the atmosphere is invigorating. People come together in spectacular surroundings to share the pleasure and power of language and ideas.

Glas-Denbury Festival

Date: 5th - 6th July 2019

The multi award winning Glas-Denbury is totally independant and has been built purely on lovem goodwill and a passion for creating something wonderful for the local and wider community to enjoy. This may not be the biggest festival out there but it has the biggest hearts with which we create an incredibly family friendly, safe, happy, colourful inspirational place. Music, arts, food drink and a LOT of FUN!!

Tunes on the Sands Festival

Date: 12th - 14th July 2019

A brand new festival, set on the beautiful golden Blackpool Sands in Devon, just 5 miles from Dartmouth With a back drop of scenic forests and hills, this will be a truly unique event where you can enjoy an ice cold beverage with the ocean only a stone’s throw away. Born from the incredible festival Tunes in the Dunes on Perranporth beach in Cornwall, that has seen artists such as Status Quo, John Newman, UB40 ft Ali, Astro & Mickey, Clean Bandit, Dizzee Rascal, the Waterboys, James Morrison, Billy Ocean + many more … This is a one of a kind event for Blackpool Sands in Devon, not to be missed.

Kingsbridge Fair Week

Dartmouth Shakespeare Week 2019

Dartmouth Shakespeare Week is the cultural highlight of the event calendar in Dartmouth and South Devon. Every year the Inn Theatre Company has presented Dartmouth Shakespeare Week in the open air at the beautiful Dartmouth Castle – a stunning location for a stunning production. The Inn Theatre Company will be presenting Macbeth this year!.

Totnes and District Agricultural Show 2019

Strete Village Day

Hope Cove Weekend 2019

J/70 World Championships 2019

Date: 29th August - 6th September 2019

Tor Bay proudly boasts some of the finest sailing waters in the world and is an internationally renowned venue. The Royal Torbay Yacht Club has established an enviable reputation over many years in hosting major National and International sailing events from the J Class racing in the 1930’s to the sailing venue for the 1948 Olympics. In more recent years the club has hosted numerous National, European and World Championships, including the Melges 24 and 32, SB20, International Dragon Class, Albacores, Cadet, Tasars and International Moths.

Kingsbridge Show 2019

Date: 7th September 2019

Kingsbridge Show continues to grow whilst trying to maintain that local feel, keeping it's traditional agricultural and horticultural roots. Horses feature strongly in the show. They have their own show field, with events running right through the day. Horse judging begins at 9am. There is something for everyone - and so much to see and do - it's a great family day out whether you farm, ride or just want to see "a little piece of rural England" and enjoy the atmosphere. Simon and Lorna will defo be here!

The International Agatha Christie Festival 2019

Agatha Christie’s birthday celebration event with events, readings and activities for all around Torbay. With both a year-round programme of artist and writer residencies, commissions and collaborative projects, including working with health, cultural tourism and education partners, as well as its biennial 5-day September festival event, International Agatha Christie Festival works to nurture creativity, cultural excellence and diversity through artistic programmes in Torbay, across the UK and internationally.

Pilgrim - Open Day

Date: 19th September 2019

Pilgrim is the oldest surviving sailing trawler built and rigged in Brixham. Come aboard and see how they did things in 1895 and explore Brixham's unique fishing and sailing heritage. We provide free guided tours. Pilgrim is owned and operated by the Pilgrim Heritage Sailing Foundation, a registered charity and run by volunteers. We sail the delightful coasts of Devon and Cornwall, cruise to the Channel Islands and beautiful Brittany and also out to the stunning Isles of Scilly. Open 1:30 - 3:30

Kingsbridge vintage bus running day

Now in its 12th year, enjoy free bus services recreating routes down narrow country lanes and out to the South Hams’ coastal villages on buses from the 1930s to the 1990s. A wonderful chance to see the area with a day of nostalgia for the way things were….
