You will have seen Kingswear over the river while on your travels around Dartmouth. It’s a small, beautiful village, with a handful of pubs and the perks of getting the evening sun much later than Dartmouth (...we promise we’re not jealous!).

The annual Kingswear Regatta is an event that’s held over a couple of days, usually in late June / early July. The Regatta is held in the area around Waterhead Creek and Jubilee Park – the small area of grass right on the creek, and is great fun for all the family. There are usually rowing races on both days of the Regatta, and a Fete on the Sunday, with food stalls and homemade crafts. There’s also entertainment for children in the form of either a good old fashioned Richard and Judy puppet show or a magician!

It’s easy to get from Dartmouth to Kingswear for the Regatta - we suggest taking the passenger ferry from by the Station Restaurant, and then it’s only a 5 minute walk away; or you can take the Higher Ferry if you’d prefer to walk along by the railway line for some spectacular views of the river!
