About Seventeen House

Foss Street is the oldest and arguably the prettiest street in Dartmouth. It's a small cobbled street which is mostly pedestrianized, and is lined with art galleries and interesting independent shops. The street was first built in 1243, and its original purpose was to be a bridge across a tidal creek of the River Dart. Since then it was made to be a permanent fixture, and houses were constructed on the built up mud either side of it. The land between Foss Street and the River Dart used to be nothing but mud and has slowly been reclaimed over the years!

Our property in Foss Street was built in 1650, and has been renovated and highly modernized to include two double bedrooms (Room 5 and Room 6) and one +Studio room (+Studio 7), all with en suites and located on the first floor.

Our rooms in Seventeen Town House are in the perfect location if you’re looking for holiday accommodation in Dartmouth town centre. During the day, Foss Street is a hive of activity, but once the shops and galleries close, it is quiet and tranquil. If you’d like to sample Dartmouth’s night life, you only need to step out the front door and walk a short distance to find one of Dartmouth’s many pubs, and feel in midst of it all again!

As with all our Just B accommodation in Dartmouth rooms at Seventeen house are offered on a Room Only basis - Bed no Breakfast. Enjoy the freedom of having your breatfast at any one of Dartmouth's great Breakfast cafes - there's lots to choose from. Most importantly you can enjoy breakfast wherever and at whatever time you like!
