Dartmouth Regatta Week 2015 - Rooms available

As with any Regatta, Dartmouth has the main events of the sailing and rowing races down the River Dart, however there is much, much more! As well as the water based activities which have crowds swarming to the embankment to spectate, Dartmouth also boasts a fantastic schedule of air shows, including the infamous Red Arrows. Just B top tip: the best view for this is up on ‘Jawbones’, the field above Dartmouth!

There’s plenty going on during the week for children too - You could enter into the crabbing contest and see how many crabs you can catch in an hour, or try your hand at pavement painting. The ‘Spot the Oddity’ contest is one for the adults and children alike, and a trail is set around Dartmouth where you must find the oddity in participating shop’s window displays – it’s much harder than it sounds! Or for the more adventurous we suggest heading to the fair that’s held alongside Avenue Gardens and braving some of the rides!

A marquee is set up in Coronation Park for the week and holds a number of events, starting on the Monday with the Regatta Ball. Wednesday night sees the annual Regatta Rock where crowds dance the night away. The marquee is then transformed overnight, opening the next morning displaying stalls from local shops and selling homemade produce.

We at Just B definitely suggest coming down to Dartmouth for the Regatta. It’s a fun-filled week and there’s something for everyone, whether you’d like to watch the rowing and sailing, head to the fair, browse the stalls which line the embankment, or just join some of the locals in the pub, it’s definitely one not to miss! Book early to avoid disappointment!
